Garrison's Birthday Weekend!!!

Garrison turned three on Saturday! I'm not sure how three years have passed already... Mom and Dad; Angie, Danny and Kenny; Bryan and Janna all came up for the big celebration. The whole Viner crew came and also Garrison's buddy Jack (from across the street) and his other buddy Jack (from school). Garrison lovingly refers to them now as "the two Jacks". We could easily call them "big Jack" and "little Jack."

We celebrated at the neighborhood park on Saturday morning. It was a beautiful day for an outdoor party! The theme was Lightning McQueen (from the movie "Cars").

Here's the spread!Cheese and crackers, apple slices, cupcakes (with "Cars" toppers), juice boxes and bottled water. It was a fairly windy day so we used bottled water to (attempt to...) keep the table cloth in place.
Light 'em up!
And he cried. He told us that he didn't want us to sing to him, but what's a birthday without the birthday song? Maybe we should have listened. Our shy boy doesn't like being the center of attention!Opening presents! Caroline's going for the loose paper.
She suffered through the party without her morning nap. She did pretty well, but she definitely let us know that she noticed!
Opening the BIG present! Wrapping that bad boy was more difficult than I thought it would be. I used an entire roll of wrapping paper and had to supplement from another roll. Niiiiice.
The tricycle wasn't as big of a hit as we thought it would be. Oh, well. Here are "the two Jacks" and Garrison playing with the Lightning McQueen Legos from the Viners.
Taking the tricycle for a spin!
After the party, we went back home for lunch and naps. Garrison didn't nap very long and woke up wanting to know if everyone was still at our house. Sweet boy. :-) And of course he got to open more gifts! He LOVES his fishing pole from Gaga and Pop!
And it is second only to the train set from GiGi and PawPaw!

Happy Birthday, big boy!!!
