Day at the Farm

Every year, the Kiwanis Club of Nashville (of which Randy is a member- and he's on the board!) partners with the Salvation Army to organize "Day at the Farm." They bus a lot of inner city kids and their families out to a farm for a day to experience country life. Randy was asked to lead some bonfire songs, so we all headed out there together. Garrison was sooooo excited!!!

First mission: find the horses! We got to take a nice walk down the loooong driveway.





As we thought, he didn't want to have anything to do with the horses once we found them. But they were beautiful and fun to see!
Second mission: Find the pond.Third mission: Go fishing! This was Garrison's first fishing experience. He's been talking about going fishing for a while and he uses some of his toys to pretend like he's fishing. He was really pumped about holding the fishing pole and putting it in the water. We expected him to lose interest once he realized that the chances of actually catching something were slim. Instead, he sat there for twenty minutes! We had to literally pull him away to go eat dinner. He kept casting his line and reeling it in, over and over. How the heck did he know what to do?!?! He was so funny. Needless to say, the boy likes to fish!

Caroline was quite content playing with the leaves. She is absolutely fascinated by leaves.
