Mom had knee replacement surgery in June, and we finally made it down to GA to visit with her over the 4th of July weekend.
Pop was glad for the distraction. He did a great job taking care of mom after surgery.
And Gaga appreciated the "grandchildren therapy" that we provided.
Mom was (and is- she's back to work now) doing great! I followed her around for a while because I wasn't sure how much she could do on her own, but she was already up and moving, doing laundry, fixing meals... she's a trooper!
Caroline got some good time with Aunt Janna.
And Garrison got to play with Uncle Bry.
Here's our 4th of July princess!
Both of our sweethearts in their matching flag shirts from Gigi.
Goodnight kisses from Pop!
Eating breakfast with Kenny.
Family time in the living room.
On our way back from GA, Garrison had his first milkshake! It was very exciting. Here he is, incredibly sugared up with over two hours left of our trip. Not our brightest idea ever! He laughed hysterically for ten minutes or so, then his sugar crashed and he finally took a (thirty minute) nap. So maybe it wasn't too bad of an idea. :-)
When we got home, Caroline learned how to fly!
Garrison got a new car seat! Miss Caroline is about to exceed the weight limit on her infant carrier, and we decided that it made more sense to get G-man a new seat and give her his seat.
We went to the beach! Randy's cousin got married in Charleston, SC so it was a good excuse for a beach vacation. Fifteen of us (ten adults and five children, all age 5 and under!) stayed in a beach house two blocks from the beach. The beach was nice, but soooo windy. Caroline didn't like it too much, but she finally conked out for a bit.
Garrison would have been just as happy if we had stayed home and found a park with a sand box. He LOVED the sand!!!
Caroline got in some good time with Gigi! Here they are at the wedding reception.
Garrison had fun at the Children's Museum of the Lowcountry.
They had a slide coming out of a tree...
And a whole room just for water play...
On our way back from Charleston, we stopped at Mom and Dad's for a few days. [We actually stopped there coming and going from Charleston. It was a ten hour trip one way, so we broke it down into two (four if you count round trip) five hour drives. After the 4th of July trip and Garrison pretty much refusing to nap, we decided that a DVD player for the van would be a good investment. It was amazing!!! So G-man watched movies and Caroline napped. Randy and I actually got to talk. Imagine that.]
Garrison had his first trip to the bowling alley!
Caroline bonded with Aunt Ang while the rest of us bowled.
Whew! It think that's most of it!
